Urban Homesteading

I'm a hippie.

Let's face it, I'm a hippie at heart.

My goal: Urban Homesteading. Self-sufficiency. Organic food. Natural Laundry soap. No lead paint in my kids' toys. Teach my girls science, math, reading, writing, and (yes) sewing, cooking and subsisting.

This weekend, we're making Laundry soap.

We're starting our garden in the spring. This is inspiring:

Next year, I'm hoping DH will get an Elk. From what I've learned, a good Elk and you don't have to buy red meat for a year!
